Privacy Policy

homebrew collects nothing about you. There is no account, and no analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party code anywhere in the app. It makes no network requests at all. Turn on airplane mode and everything still works — that is the simplest proof of this policy.
Information we collect
None. We have no server to send anything to, and the app never contacts one.
What stays on your device
Some things are saved locally so the app is useful. They live only on your iPhone, we cannot see them, and they are never transmitted anywhere:
- Recipes you create or customize.
- Your settings — appearance, temperature units, sounds and haptics.
Deleting the app removes all of it. If you use iCloud device backups, that data may be included in your own backup, which is managed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Purchases
homebrew Premium is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple's App Store. Payment is processed by Apple — we never see or receive your payment details, card number, or address. Your device asks Apple whether the unlock has been purchased and receives a yes or no. We are not told who you are.
What Apple sees
This is the one honest caveat to everything above, and it is worth stating plainly. The app collects nothing, but distributing an app through the App Store means Apple is involved, and Apple has its own relationship with you:
- Apple processes your purchase and holds the payment details.
- If you have chosen to share analytics with developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may give us aggregated, anonymous usage and crash statistics. We cannot identify anyone from it, and you can turn it off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
- Apple gives us aggregate sales and download totals — numbers, never names.
None of this comes from code in the app, and none of it identifies you to us. It is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
Security
Nothing is transmitted, so nothing can be intercepted in transit. What is saved stays in the app's own storage on your iPhone, protected by the device encryption iOS applies when your phone is locked with a passcode or Face ID.
Sharing and selling
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose personal information, because we do not have any.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you the right to see, correct, export, or delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none of yours, so there is nothing for us to show or erase — the request would come back empty. Data saved on your device is deleted by deleting the app, and you never need our permission to do it.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. If the app ever begins collecting anything — which is not the plan — that change will be described clearly here before it ships.
Who makes homebrew
homebrew is built and run by one independent developer, based in India. There is no company behind it, no investors, and no one else with access to anything — which is part of why there is so little to say on this page.
